You have a podcast or a YouTube channel and that’s great. Do you know the number one reason people don’t listen or don’t subscribe? Bad Audio.
You can have the greatest content shot on the best equipment and yet, people will click off quickly if they hear too much static, low audio, mismatched audio with a guest. Anything to do with audio causes the most abandonment issues.
To help clean up audio on my podcasts and YouTube videos, I use a service called Auphonic.com (this is NOT an affiliate link!) – This service will remove hum and background noise. Level out the sounds on different microphones or different speakers. They can add metadata, artwork, and chapters. The service can also upload your finished files to Google, DropBox, Amazon Web Services and so much more.
Want different versions from a single file? No problem. Want transcripts of the audio? They can do that using third-party services. Are you seeing why I love Auphonic? And the documentation, the help sections are filled with easy to read, easy to understand articles and video to answer just about any question you have.
Just be warned. Reading all the blog posts and the detailed videos on how it all works, you may end up with a degree in Audio Mastering/ Audio Engineering. Seriously!
Sign up and you get two free hours of service a month. If you need more, you can buy more time in blocks or as a subscription. Here is another Bonus Feature: The time you are charged for is the length of the original file. So if you upload a ten-minute podcast, the ten minutes come off your total time available. Yet you can create an MP3 file, if its a video, you create a new MP4 file with the new audio and other creations from the same file will not count against the time you have available.
For podcasters, they will do the MP3 Tags. The artwork, the metadata, the tags, all that information that iTunes wants you to have. Then it can upload to Libsyn or to other services. Even upload to DropBox or Google Cloud.
Hope this helps!
